Middlesex Coaches Association

The Middlesex Coaches Association (MCoA) plays a key role in the management of Middlesex cricket coaching activities. It is responsible for coach affiliation and development and makes an important contribution to the development of the coach education programme of courses.

The overarching national authority for cricket coaches is the England and Wales Cricket Board Coaches Association (ECB CA), the purpose of which is to inspire participation and maximise performance of cricket coaches and players. The ECB CA enables individuals to obtain formal coaching qualifications and accreditation, through coach education, and supports them through their coaching journeys.

The MCoA is the ‘voice’ of ECB CA in Middlesex, it implements the principles of the ECB CA in the county, acts as a conduit for the flow of information between ECB CA members in Middlesex and the ECB CA itself (that is not passed directly) and helps coordinate cricket coaching activities in Middlesex, particularly coach development.

The MCoA works closely with the Middlesex Cricket Participation Team (for coach education and coach development) and with the Youth Cricket Department (for coaching at the performance-level) to ensure the coordinated training, development and management of coaches in Middlesex, and to support coaching in the club, community and performance-level structure.
