Viking Cricket makes delivery of cricket equipment to Middlesex Disability at Lord’s
Almost three months ago Viking Cricket embarked upon an innovative kit collection campaign, which has seen them taking donations of any unwanted cricket kit, which they were collecting for the benefit of Middlesex’s Cricket’s Disability squads.
On the hallowed turf at Lord’s Middlesex Cricket were presented with a huge collection of bats, pads, helmets, gloves, spikes, whites, balls and an array of other equipment which had been handed in, along with a selection of brand new cricket equipment and bats, generously donated to the club by Viking Cricket themselves.

“When Jeff called and said he’d managed to collect some kit for us and wanted to drop it off down at Lord’s we were naturally delighted.
“When he turned up at Lord’s with the most enormous pile of kit you could imagine we were completely blown away. People’s generosity has been amazing.
“Our most sincere thanks go to Jeff and all of his staff at Viking for all their hard work in collecting the kit on our behalf and for donating it to the players within our squads.
“It was great to see your D40 side go out there on Sunday and win their opening match of the season, with many of the squad proudly sporting their new equipment thanks to Viking.
“It’s has made such a difference to the players within the squad, and we’re really grateful to Viking for all their support.”

"After speaking with Michael and hearing about the problems some of his cricketers face we thought we would like to try and help if we could. We know there are already other very worthy schemes in place for kit donations across cricket and it wouldn’t be easy, but we thought we would try and see what happens.
“The main thing for us is that we didn’t want to benefit in the way we have seen some schemes in the past i.e. you purchase a new bat and we take your old one and give you £50 off. We felt that wasn’t the right message so again we knew we were up against it, however with the help of our stockists ‘It’s just cricket’ and ‘The Cricket Boutique’ along with ‘Steeton CC’ and ‘Crossflatts CC’ we managed to pull together to make this first donation. I am hoping we can turn this into a yearly event as we have already been promised some more kit.
“Cricket is the most wonderful game and it really can help to take away peoples everyday problems so if we can make a small difference in somebody life and put a smile on someone face that makes it all worthwhile.
“We look forward to doing the same again early next year.”
