At last night’s Vitality Blast match against Essex at Lord’s Cricket Ground, Middlesex Cricket unveiled their brand-new mobile cricket activation – the Run Machine.
Following the successful launch of Middlesex Cricket’s Super Skills activation earlier this summer, the club’s desire was to create a solution which could see mobile cricket activations taken around the county at the drop of a hat.
The vehicle itself is a bespoke created and uniquely designed Peugeot Boxer van, which has been built from the chassis up by fleet service group VMS Fleet Management Ltd in conjunction with specialist vehicle convertor JC Payne, to meet Middlesex Cricket’s exact specifications.
The Run Machine can transport Middlesex Cricket’s activation to provide cricket ‘on the go’ to literally any club, school, activation centre or high street, anywhere around the county, with the aim of significantly boosting cricket participation numbers within Middlesex moving forwards.
The Run Machine has been designed as a one of a kind, with the capacity to house all cricket equipment, a bespoke pop-up inflatable cricket net, two BOLA junior bowling machines, plus two LED flat-screen TVs to play engaging Middlesex Cricket promotional video content throughout the activation. Fully liveried up with Middlesex branding, the Run Machine will be coming to a venue near you some time soon.

“From what was initially a creative vision, to work with VMS and make it a reality has been incredible. The flexibility they’ve shown along with JC Payne in designing the vehicle to our exact requirements has been key to us getting an end product that we are delighted with.
“We can’t wait to get out on the road, taking cricket around the county, in the hope that we can help inspire the next generation of cricketers within Middlesex.
