2019 SEASON VITALITY BLAST FIXTURES RELEASED
Following today’s earlier release of the 2019 County Championship and Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures, Middlesex Cricket is delighted to now announce the 2019 Vitality Blast fixture schedule.
With Head Coach Stuart law taking the reins this summer, the club’s focus is squarely set on making improvements in the shorter formats of the game, and Law’s new era in the Vitality Blast kicks off at Lord’s on July 18th with the Essex Eagles in opposition.
Lord’s will host four of Middlesex’s Vitality Blast clashes this summer – all on Thursday evenings under the floodlights, with Kent (1st August), Surrey (8th August) and Hampshire (22nd August) joining Essex to complete the quartet of fixtures.
Once again Middlesex will visit Richmond and Uxbridge for two outground weekend Vitality Blast fixtures, with Somerset heading to the former on Sunday 4th August and the latter hosting Sussex on Saturday 24th August.
The club’s final Vitality Blast fixture on Sunday 11th August against Gloucestershire will also be played at one of the club’s outgrounds, although at this stage the venue is still to be confirmed.
Middlesex’s group campaign concludes with two away clashes on Thursday 29th August and Friday 30th August, against Hampshire and Somerset respectively.
Should the club progress to the knockout stages of the competition, these will be played between 4th and 7th September, with Finals Day set for Saturday 12st September at Edgbaston.
Middlesex Chief Executive Richard Goatley commented:
“An exciting Vitality Blast campaign lays ahead and we’re very much looking forward to seeing a different brand of T20 cricket played under new Head Coach Stuart Law.
“We know we are capable of making significant improvements in the shortest format of the game and we are all confident that we will be able to deliver on this and hopefully bring back the trophy we won in 2008.”
