IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING GROUND ACCESS AND ONGOING CONSTRUCTION DURING THE MIDDLESEX V DURHAM SPECSAVERS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Members and supporters are reminded that works to redevelop the Compton and Edrich stands at Lord's Cricket Ground are now underway.
This will inevitably cause some disruption to spectators attending Middlesex's Specsavers County Championship match against Durham between 10th and 13th September.
All members and supporters should therefore make themselves aware of the following important information regarding access to the ground and access restrictions to certain parts of Lord's throughout the game...
GROUND ACCESS...
- General access to the Ground will be via the Grace Gate ONLY
- Whilst access to the ground will be via the Grace Gate only, ticket sales points will be open at both the North Gate and the Grace Gate. We would recommend, to avoid unneccessary queueing, that anyone arriving at Lord's from the St John's Wood end of the ground should purchase tickets from the North Gate sales point and then access the ground via the Grace Gate on St. John's Wood Road.
- The North Gate will ONLY be open for visitors to the MCC Cricket Academy and associated parking facilities and to the ECB Offices, but there will be no route through to any other part of the Ground.
PARKING...
- Parking at Lord’s will remain completely unavailable on all match days and will be more limited than usual on other days. If you have limited mobility and require a set-down-and-pick-up pass, please contact the MCC Club Facilities Department (020 7616 8653 or clubfacilities@mcc.org.uk)
CHANGES INSIDE LORD'S...
- The Lord’s Shop has taken up a temporary position next to the Grace Gate. Scorecards will also be available from this location.
- The ongoing works also necessitate the temporary relocation of the MCC Ground staff and their equipment. During the months ahead a number of containers and sundry plant and equipment will be located at the Pavilion End, primarily in the gap between the Pavilion and the Allen Stand.
- The relocation of the Ground Staff will also mean that members and other spectators will therefore be unable to access the Pavilion, Allen Stand or Main Ground via the Allen Gap, which has been cordoned off. The location of the containers pitch-side means views will be restricted from a small section of seating in the Allen Stand Lower Tier, depending on the location of the pitch.
DURING THE MATCH...
- Hoarding has been erected on the Main Ground at the Nursery End, to enable works to continue whilst play is in progress. The hoarding will double as a sight-screen
- The scoreboards above the Allen Stand and the Edrich Stand will still be in operation throughout the match, but the scoreboard above the Compton Stand has been decommissioned.
We look forward to welcoming spectators to Lord's next week and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. The club will continue to notify members and spectators of any other disruptions that may occur as a result of the ongoing works.
