FELIX PROJECT VOLUNTEERING PROVES A HUGE SUCCESS WITH MIDDLESEX'S CRICKETERS
Last night eight Middlesex Cricketers spent the evening volunteering with the club’s charity partner, the Felix Project, delivering unsold fresh food to a number of charities across the capital.
With four city centre routes to cover on the night, the group split into pairs, and successfully took control of collections and deliveries in all four of the evening's routes, helping to feed some of London’s most vulnerable people.
The experience gave Middlesex’s cricketers the opportunity to see at first hand the great work that the charity does, day in day out, across the year, and gave them a much greater appreciation of everything the Felix project stands for.
After volunteering on the Soho route, alongside Tim Murtagh, Sam Robson commented:
“It was great to help out the Felix Project last night and be part of such a great cause.
“It was great eye opener into what the charity does and who they help out on a daily basis, and for us to play a part in that was brilliant.
“On behalf of all the Middlesex boys we are looking forward to staying involved in helping out in any way we can.”
Stephen Eskinazi, paired with Tom Helm, covering the city route, commented:
“Helmy and I set off with a limited knowledge of the impact of the Felix Project, and within minutes of helping started to truly understand how important they are.
“The volume of amazing food being distributed to those in need was incredible to see and to feel a small part of something that is making such a huge difference was a really special experience.
“We are all proud to represent charities like the Felix Project and are looking forward to continuing helping in any way we possibly can.”
The Felix Project are always keen to hear from anyone wishing to volunteer their time to the charity, so if you'd like to follow in the footsteps of the Middlesex players and offer your support to the charity, they'd really love to hear from you.
