MIDDLESEX CRICKETERS VOLUNTEERING FOR FELIX PROJECT TONIGHT
This evening, eight Middlesex cricketers will get to experience life as a Felix Project volunteer, as they pair up and travel across London collecting unsold fresh food from retail outlets in the capital before redistributing it to charities who help to feed some of the most vulnerable people in the city.
The Felix Project have been Middlesex’s official charity partner for the last two years, and this evening will give Middlesex’s professional cricketers a valuable insight into the great work that the charity undertakes every day as it helps feed those in need across London.
This evening, Nathan Sowter will pair up with Max Holden on the Notting Hill route, Stephen Eskinazi and Tom Helm will take on the City route, Sam Robson and Tim Murtagh will cover the Soho route, whilst Robbie White and Thilan Walallawita will serve the Victoria route.
Speaking of the Middlesex players’ volunteering efforts this evening, the Felix Project’s Head of Fundraising, Andy Holland, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome eight Middlesex players this evening as they take over four of our City Centre routes, collecting from lunchtime retailers and delivering surplus food to charities supporting vulnerable people. The partnership between Middlesex Cricket and The Felix Project continues to be incredibly rewarding for all involved.”
The Middlesex players will be posting pictures of their experience this evening on their respective social media channels, so fans and members can follow their journey with the Felix Project.
Also, in August, when Middlesex hosted Surrey at Lord’s in this year’s Vitality Blast competition, the players wore special one-off Felix Project caps to help raise awareness of the charity. Tonight, one lucky winner will get their hands on one of these limited-edition caps which has been signed by England’s ICC World Cup winning Captain, Eoin Morgan, and South Africa’s greatest ever cricketer, AB de Villiers.
