Middlesex Cricket is looking for Umpires to officiate in their recreational competitions in the upcoming summer season.
Qualified umpires are invited to stand in the Women’s leagues and/or player transition competitions. These matches are played during midweek evenings and on Sundays and represent a fantastic additional opportunity to be out in the middle. Male and female umpires can stand in either competition, and all are encouraged to sign up.
There are five recreational competitions that will be run by the Middlesex Cricket team over the next few months:
Any umpire interested in officiating these games should email Raj.nath@middlesexccc.com.
Why not sign up to be an umpire now?
Alongside the hugely successful Women and Girls 100 Up campaign, there are some FREE Stage One courses available on the Middlesex ACO website, so don't delay, sign up to join an online umpires course today!
Why be an umpire?
Because it’s the best seat in the house. No one gets involved in a game of cricket as much as the two umpires. If you have ever done your 10 overs, or umpired the occasional game, you probably coped quite well with LBW decisions and Run outs. After all, most cricketers understand these basics. But do you know, do you really know, the instant the ball becomes dead?
So, whether you are called upon to occasionally umpire, or are interested in taking the first step towards a more lasting interest as either a club or panel umpire, attending the free ECB ACO Stage One Online Umpire Course is a perfect solution. Not only is it free, but it can also be done in your own time and at your own pace.
And after you have completed Stage One, you can go onto Stage Two and apply to become an accredited umpire. For further information about officiating courses contact Ned Wilsher, Middlesex ACO County Education Officer at education@middlesexaco.com or visit http://www.middlesexaco.com/courses/umpire/.
