VACANCY - COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Middlesex Cricket is looking to appoint a motivated, committed, resourceful and reliable individual to work within the commercial team.

The role is an essential position within the Club’s commercial team, with responsibility for building and maintaining key relationships with sponsors as well as supporting the Head of Commercial in the preparation and execution of sponsor sales pitches. The individual should have at least two years’ relevant experience working in an autonomous front facing role in a relevant industry.

The Commercial Manager will report to the Head of Commercial. Duties of the role will be divided into the following areas and include, but are not limited to;

Sponsorship Management
Responsible for sales and servicing of sponsors including:

• Build and maintain key relationships with sponsors, developing a culture of trust
• Support the Head of Commercial in the preparation and execution of sponsor sales pitches, taking the lead where required
• Manage reconciliation of unsold stock, supporting sales where possible
• Manage the development of sales collateral
• Lead on delivering commercial rights in relation to the sponsor’s contract at events

Event Management
Working closely with the Operations team to:

• Manage the execution of sponsor events which exemplify and communicate Middlesex brand values
• Own all relevant client comms liaising with internal and external stakeholders where necessary

Commercial Strategy

• Support the Head of Commercial in developing, managing and implementing the annual commercial strategy aligned to the club’s key objectives.
• Be aware of new revenue streams and play a crucial role in product development and revenue generation
• Support the Head of Commercial in regular updates to the Commercial Advisory Board and Middlesex Executive Board

Financial Responsibility

• Be responsible for financial modelling, budget and reconciliation of all relevant projects ensuring the Head of Commercial is regularly updated and payment processes are adhered to wherever necessary
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure invoicing is up to date, owning all relevant client comms

Our ideal candidate will have;

• Degree level educated in a business or sport related degree
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an autonomous front facing role in a relevant industry
• Strong commercial experience from a reputable agency or sporting body including:
  • Stakeholder management with experience working with business executives
  • Commercial strategy and product innovation
  • Strong presentation and communication skills required for pitching/sales with business executives
  • Strong financial modelling and budget management skills
• Strong understanding of the business and commercial sporting environment
