MIDDLESEX COACHES ASSOCIATION APPOINTS TWO NEW COACHING AMBASSADORS

The Middlesex Coaches Association (MCoA) is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Coaching Ambassadors.

Aasif Ebrahim is appointed to the vacant role of MCoA Coaching Ambassador for the Central Area and Laura Thomlinson assumes a new appointment as Coaching Ambassador (Women and Girls).

These appointments are terrific additions to the MCoA Leadership Team, and we are very excited about the impact they will have, as they have a real understanding of the coaching community in the county in their particular areas.

Aasif has been a keen cricketer since childhood and started his coaching career in 1996 with the juniors section at his club in Cape Town, South Africa. Aasif has played leadership roles in developing young players in sport for over 10 years. He is currently a Level 2 coach and is the age group manager at Ealing CC for the U10 age group (previously U9 and U11), and is driven by his passion to ensure there is an abundance of development and playing opportunities for all players at grassroots level.

Laura has been a sports coach for 15 years and qualified as a Level 2 coach in 2019. She is the Head of Women & Girls’ Cricket at Highgate CC, and coaches boys and girls across the club’s year-round programme. Laura is the Middlesex County U11 Girls’ Coach and last year Middlesex recognised her work with an Inspired to Play Grassroots Cricket Award and a MCoA Certificate of Achievement Award in the Coach of the Year category. She is excited about her new role because she is passionate about developing and supporting female coaches.

Aasif and Laura will be busy in the next few weeks getting to know the coaches in their areas, and can be contacted at coachesassociation@middlesexccc.com.
