Mike O'Farrell

Biography

Educated at St. Ignatius College and after completing his A-levels, Mike joined Kodak Ltd as a shift worker in the chemical manufacturing part of the Harrow Factory. He stayed with this organisation for 36 years, filling 30 different roles including Managing Director of Kodak Ireland and Board member for Kodak Ltd. His final post was as the public affairs director for the European and Middle East Region for Eastman Kodak Company.

Mike left the corporation in 1997 and was then invited to be the CEO of the British Acupuncture Council. Mike retired from this role in 2011 being elected a Fellow and decided to become a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Westminster reading for a BA (Hons) in Politics which he successfully completed in 2014. He was then invited by the University to read for an MA in Democratic Politics and International Relations which he completed successfully in 2016 and he has since been invited to apply to follow through with a PhD in 2019.

From 1997 until 2016 as well as his involvement on the Finance committee for Middlesex CCC and then as Treasurer, he was also a member of the Board of the National Motor Museum based at Beaulieu and from 2012 until 2016 had legal responsibility as Church Warden for his local church in Great Missenden. Mike himself was a very keen cricketer, having played at school and Stanmore CC.


Mike commented: “The chairman's role is exciting, challenging and in today's environment very demanding but in my opinion, there cannot be a better place than Middlesex and Lords with its history and people, on and off the field, to face these challenges.”
