After impressing on loan at Northamptonshire in 2017, Middlesex were keen to integrate Max into the first XI in 2018. Since then, Max has been a regular fixture in the squad, showing the great potential that lead to him being named England Under 19’s captain in previous years. This promise was highlighted with his record-breaking knock of 166 against Kent in the Royal London One-Day Cup, which is the highest List-A score recorded by a Middlesex player, toppling Sir Andrew Strauss’ total.
